ODAYA began in 2021, during one of the most uncertain times in recent history. In the middle of the pandemic, one simple thought stayed with us:

If you were giving someone a gift, what would you want to give them?

For us, the answer wasn't something expensive. It was good health.

In Japan, tea has long been more than just a drink. It's a gesture of gratitude, a symbol of care, and a heartfelt wish for the health and wellbeing of those who receive it.

That philosophy became the foundation of ODAYA.

As our journey grew from a small tea store into cafés, retail products and wholesale partnerships across Australia, our purpose remained the same: to create products we would be proud to share with the people we love.

Every matcha we select. Every ingredient we source. Every recipe we develop.

We ask ourselves one question:

Would we happily serve this to our own family?

If the answer is no, we don't make it.

That's why we believe great products don't need unnecessary artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. We choose authentic Japanese ingredients, develop recipes with care, and focus on creating food and drinks that are as pure as they are enjoyable.

Whether it's a cup of matcha, a tin of tea or a box of cookies, we hope every ODAYA product carries the same meaning that inspired us from the beginning—a simple wish for good health, shared with someone you care about.

Today, after serving hundreds of thousands of drinks and working closely with our Japanese tea partners, that belief continues to guide every decision we make.
